Chengdu opens first direct route to Bohol Island

Published by December 26,2019

On December 23, Chengdu's first direct Bohol Island charter flight was officially launched. There is no need to go to Bohol Island in the Philippines.

The route is operated by Philippine Pan Pacific Airlines, with two flights per week and one flight on Monday and Friday. The aircraft used is Airbus A320, which has a full economy class layout and can carry 179 passengers. The outbound flight number 8Y825, departs from Chengdu at 03:15 Beijing time, and landed at 07:45 local time; the return flight number 8Y824, departs at 21:15 local time, and landed at 02:15 Beijing time.

It is understood that the flight landed at Panglao International Airport in Bohol Island. The old airport of Tagbilaran Airport in Bohol Island was closed last year, and the new airport Panglao International Airport (BPIA) was officially opened. The new airport is said to be the first environmentally friendly airport in the Philippines. It is only a 10-minute drive from the popular beach Alona Beach. The surrounding hotels and homestays are very convenient.

Bohol Island is a well-known attraction in the Philippines. Previously, not only was there no direct flight from Chengdu to Bohol Island, but the transfer required at least 2 times, which was not only time consuming, but also very frustrating for the passengers. The opening of direct flights undoubtedly provides a convenient bridge for travel enthusiasts.

According to data provided by the Beijing Office of the Philippine National Tourism Administration, the number of Chinese tourists to the Philippines increased significantly in the first half of 2019, and China has leapt to become the second largest international source market in the Philippines. . As a result, the Philippines attaches increasing importance to the Sichuan market. This time, Philippine Pan Pacific Airlines deliberately opened a non-stop Chengdu-Bohol route to meet the travel needs of Sichuan tourists.
