Malaysia announces no restrictions on Chinese imports

Following WHO's listing of the new coronavirus epidemic as an "public health emergency of international concern", several countries have announced import restrictions on China. It is reported that Malaysia stated that the country will not restrict Chinese imports.

 

According to a report by Lianhe Zaobao on January 31, Malaysia ’s Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry Wang Jianmin stressed that although China is experiencing an epidemic, Malaysia ’s imports from China will continue as usual.

 

 

He said that no one is currently recommending restrictions on imports from China, "because there is no indication that the virus will be transmitted through items."

 

China is Malaysia's largest trading partner.
