Montevideo Port, the commercial port of Uruguay in the east coast of South America. Located in Montevideo Bay, south of the country, near the northern shore of the La Plata Estuary. It is 125 nautical miles to the port of Buenos Aires in the west, 1040 nautical miles to the port of Rio de Janeiro in the northeast, and 3625 nautical miles to the port of Cape Town in the east. The port area is mainly distributed on the southeast coast of Montevideo Bay, with internal and external ports. The ship entered the port from the south exit of two inverted "eight" breakwaters in the outer port, and the water depth of the entry channel was 10.3 meters. The outer port has a harbour jetty pier extending from the northwest of the peninsula with a water depth of 8.8 meters at the forefront for groceries. To the east is the river trade port basin.

    

   Montevideo port handles 90% of Uruguay's import and export trade materials. Export wool, frozen meat, leather; import petroleum, coal, industrial products, etc. The main importing countries are Argentina 19%, Brazil 18.6%, Paraguay 14.1%, the United States 8.7%, and China 6.2%. The traditional peak season of the route is from July to October every year.
